It goes without saying that this summer is different from last year’s; but Nye Beach in Newport, Oregon is still providing yummy eats and incredible views for those who can safely travel to visit!

This month’s highlighted home is our beautiful Overlook. Overlook is in the heart of Nye Beach, making all of the following mentioned businesses easily walkable from the front door. Take a stroll around the block to grab a book, eat some food, and then onto the sand to finish off your perfect day in Nye Beach. Please try and social distance as much as possible, and always bring your mask when headed out of the house!

. . . . .

Nana’s Irish Pub is 430 feet from the front door; in other words, it’s a 1 minute walk to your own personal shepherd’s pie, a pint of Guinness, delicious salads and appetizers, and a whole lot of character! Nana’s has outdoor seating and one of the yummiest menus in Nye Beach.

If you’re craving a sourdough chowder bowl, Chowder Bowl at Nye Beach has you covered! They have dog-friendly outdoor seating with a great ocean view. Parking is nearby if you do need to drive. Masks are required while walking around, but once seated, you can take them off. The sourdough chowder bowl hits the spot, and the friendly staff make you feel welcomed. This is comfort food!

Still thirsty? Head to The Taphouse at Nye Creek. They have dine in, takeout, and they deliver. Their outdoor seating is prime, also with an awesome view of the coast. They have pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, salads, and a good selection in the kid’s menu. Their tap list is especially impressive, and you can get a growler to go for when you’re back at Overlook!

If you want to enjoy some fabulous Italian food in the comfort of your own vacation home, Sorella is delicious. They have a fun twist on a classic Italian menu with beautiful dishes that incorporate local flavors. If you picked up some wine on your way to the coast (check out our other blog posts HERE about wine in the Willamette Valley), this would be a great choice to pair all the culinary gifts that Oregon has to offer! With house made pasta and gorgeous desserts, you can’t go wrong.

The Nye Beach Book House is just around the corner from Overlook. Reading at the beach feels like a vacation staple, so support this local gem if you need to grab some new material. They’re open Wednesday through Sunday.

There are too many good spots to mention, so get out (safely, of course) and explore for yourself. Overlook is the perfect home for those looking to walk to everything they need for a fun vacation at the coast.
