FAQ

  1. Check-in & Check-out Times:

Check-in: 3:30pm from Monday through Saturday, and 5:00pm on Sunday

Check-out: 10:30am every day of the week

  2. Why book direct?

Booking direct simply saves you money! We don’t charge as high of a booking fee as VRBO or Airbnb, and depending on the length of your stay, you could save hundreds of dollars in fees.

  3. How do I book a home?

The easiest and most efficient way to get a quote for a home you’re interested in is by using the “Availability” button in the top right corner of the screen. If you have immediate questions, you can call Karissa or Amber and we would be happy to help set up your reservation with you.

  4. Is booking online secure?

If you decide to book using your credit/debit card, we process these by using a third-party vendor, called Stripe. It’s a secure system that requires a complex login to view any transaction information.

  5. How do I know which dates are available at each home?

You can check out our Book Now page to see all of the homes’ calendars in one place!

  6. Can I bring my pet with me?

Vanishing Sands and The Sanctuary allow pets—which you can find under the “Our Homes” tab. We require a $75 non-refundable pet fee per pet, and both homes allow a maximum of 2 pets.

  7. Is an early check-in or late check-out possible?

***Possibly! We allow same day turnovers at all of our homes. This means that we frequently have guests leaving at 10:30AM, then we clean and prepare the home for 5 hours and have a new set of guests arriving at 3:30PM, all within the same day! When there is a turnover, an early arrival and late departure is nearly impossible. If there is not a turnover, there’s more flexibility for our cleaners. We do not allow early check-ins or late check-outs from June 1st-September 1st, as this is our busiest season. Otherwise, if interested, please inquire about an early check-in or late check-out 2 weeks before your arrival.

  8. What is the damage deposit?

When you book with us, a hold of $200 will be put on your card starting the day you arrive at our beach house until 7 days post departure. If all of the check-out items on the departure list are completed and no extra cleaning is required, the hold on your card will be released. Reminder: This functions not as a charge where the money ever leaves your account, but a pre-authorized amount by the cardholder that could be retrieved by OPI if extra cleaning was needed after your stay. Let us know if you have further questions.

  9. What do you provide for the guests at the homes?

We provide linens, fully-made beds, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toilet paper, hand soap, bath towels, wash cloths, lotion, and some hair dryers (in the full bathrooms). The kitchen has pans, appliances, coffee filters, a variety of spices, some paper towels, dish soap, rags, some dishwasher detergent tablets, and kitchen towels. We provide laundry detergent. We provide propane for the BBQ’s. We provide basic cable at some of the homes and, at some of the homes, the smart TV’s have Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon Prime capabilities. We do not provide firewood, but you can purchase some to be delivered to the house before you arrive or during your stay!

  10. What kind of coffee maker is available at the house?

We provide 12 cup basket style coffee makers and filters. Some of our homes have Keurigs, but all of our homes have basket style coffee makers and filters.

  11. What spices and pantry items are at the house?

We recommend bringing any specific spices or ingredients needed to complete your meal. We do not provide specific spices or pantry items, as they are left behind from previous guests. We frequently discard any items that have been around for awhile, so we don’t keep a detailed list of what comes and goes. There is likely salt and pepper and a smattering of common spices.

  12. What should I pack for my stay at the Oregon Coast?

We always recommend layers! Pack a tee-shirt, fleece, down, waterproof jacket, gloves, hat, waterproof shoes, flip flops, sunglasses, a bathing suit (for the hot tub), and slippers or socks to keep your toes warm while you’re inside! It’s a very damp and wet climate, usually accompanied by wind, so it errs on the colder side most of the time. It could be rainy, windy, cloudy, overcast, monsoon, sunny and still all within the same day. When it’s sunny, it is gorgeous, and you’ll see the locals in tank tops on the beach! Prepare for every weather scenario so you can be outside and enjoy whatever comes your way.

  13. Do you recommend any photographers or private chefs for my small gathering?

Yes! We have an entire page dedicated to vendors that you can peruse. We highly recommend them all and are happy to answer any questions.
